Friso Heidinga (), owner of Amsterdam Winds, was originally a scientist - a neurobiologist in fact - but has been a wind instrument repairman for more than 10 years now.

He has taken pride in repairing instruments belonging to some of the world's most demanding musicians, such artists as Chris Potter, Joe Lovano, Dick Oatts, Candy Dulfer and others. He considers it a profound challenge to make and improve this special instrument for players whose standards and expectations are so high.
